Run the week from one place.

Rosters, hours, leave, tips and bookings for shift-based teams, on the same staff, role and location setup, so nothing has to be stitched back together on a Sunday night.

Free for teams of five or fewer. A fourteen-day trial, with up to ten staff, for the rest.

The weekly roster: staff down the side, days across the top, each shift a card with its times and role

The rota, built once and published to everyone's phone.

Build the week, reuse a default week, and publish. Staff sign in with a one-time code, see their shifts, ask for time off and read their tip statements. The staff app runs in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish.

The weekly roster: staff down the side, days across the top, each shift a card with its times and role, and hours totalled per day

Hours worked, not hours planned.

Clock in with a PIN on the kiosk. Clocked hours are matched against the roster, forgotten clock-outs are caught, and the timesheet is what pay is run from.

The week's timesheet: each staff member's clock-in, clock-out, break and hours by day, with today's rows highlighted

Leave, unavailability and TOIL in one calendar.

Staff ask from their phone. Managers approve from theirs. Balances and accrual are tracked for full-time and part-time staff, and the team calendar shows who is off before the rota is built.

The staff app's Leave screen: entitlement, used and remaining days, a new request form, and the list of approved leave

Tips split fairly, recorded properly, paid on time.

Enter the week's takings and tips, see the split by hours and role before anyone is paid, lock it, and every staff member gets a statement. The records the Workplace Relations Commission can ask for are kept and exportable from the day you start.

The staff app's Tips screen: the latest payout, the all-time total, each period marked paid, and a PDF statement to download for each

Every shift knows its own jobs.

Shift work by role, recurring templates, cleaning records with a time and a name on them, and a Workpad kiosk for each work area so the team ticks off work where it happens.

The task manager's opening view: open actions, completed items and checklist runs, then a card per role showing how much of its shift work is done

A full dining room, run from one diary.

A table plan for service, walk-ins and a waiting list, a booking button for your website in your colours, and Han, who books, answers questions from your menu and takes a cancellation so your team does not have to. Switch on texts and guests who opt in get a confirmation and a reminder. No per-cover fees.

For pharmacies, clinics and salons.

Professionals and rooms, services with their own durations, consent forms completed online or at the counter and kept for as long as you set, vaccine stock that takes the service off the booking page when it runs out. Patients book on your website and, with texts on, get a reminder. No per-professional fees.

The appointments booking page on a phone: a pharmacy's services and a calendar of days with free times

Know what's on before your customers walk in.

Upcoming fixtures scored by how busy they are likely to make you, two weeks out, with the channel each one is on. Put tonight's fixture and your specials on the big TV with one tap. Fixtures come from public sources and can occasionally lag.

The What's On calendar: two weeks of fixtures, each scored for likely footfall

Records the inspector can ask for, and the file your accountant wants.

Staff details, roles, start dates and the audit trail kept in one place, with a records pack to download when a question comes. At the end of each pay period, one email to your accountant carries worked hours, leave and corrections. DistroShift does not run payroll and is not legal advice; it keeps the answers ready.

Every venue gets its own mind.

Distro is the intelligence inside DistroShift. It reads your rosters, trading, leave and tips, and once a week tells you what matters in plain English.

  • A weekly brief. Where the week looks busy or thin, who is short on hours, what leave is coming, and what it would change on the rota.
  • A forecast it marks itself. Expected covers by day, scored against what actually happened, so you can see whether to trust it.
  • Suggested roster actions. Add a server to Friday dinner, drop one from Tuesday lunch; one tap applies it to the rota, you stay in charge.
  • Han, for the team. Staff and managers ask how to do something and get the answer from the manual, not a search.
  • Knows the rules. Irish employment law is built in: the Tips Act, the Organisation of Working Time Act, minimum wage and rest breaks, and PPS obligations, kept versioned, with outdated versions flagged automatically.

It remembers how your venue trades, so the advice sharpens over time. It never invents a number and never sees a name; staff appear to it only as codes. Included with every paid plan.

Start your first shift

Built from the work, not from the whiteboard.

I started DistroShift because I was tired of seeing good businesses lose too much time to admin, compliance, staff records, scheduling and paperwork, with too little time left for the people and customers in front of them.

Built from real conversations.

Every feature in DistroShift starts the same way: by listening.

We spend time where the work actually happens. Pharmacy counters before opening. Hospitality venues preparing for service. Pub cellars after closing. Clubs during the weekend rush.

Those conversations become ideas.
Those ideas become features.
That’s how DistroShift is built.

“During an early pharmacy demonstration, a manager immediately recognised the value of seeing unavailable staff before creating the weekly roster.”

That observation changed how roster planning is presented throughout DistroShift. One example of how practical feedback shapes the product.

I spent more than 20 years working in hospitality, including over 12 years in management, and I saw the same problem week after week. Too much time was going into administration, compliance, staff records, rosters and paperwork. The jobs that were meant to support the business were pulling attention away from actually running it.

I watched managers spend hours chasing timesheets, correcting records, sorting leave, updating staff details and stitching everything together from spreadsheets, messages and memory. That is time you never get back. I wanted a better way to keep control of the week without adding another layer of hassle.

That is when I teamed up with Wayne Comerford. Wayne brings more than 25 years of experience delivering technology, operational improvement and business transformation programmes across global organisations. Between us, we wanted to build something practical: software that solves real operational problems and holds up in day-to-day use.

We started with hospitality because that is where I knew the pain best. But it did not take long to see the same pattern elsewhere. Pharmacies, clubs, leisure venues, retail businesses and other service businesses all deal with the same pressure around staff management, compliance, communication, training and day-to-day control.

Today we are working closely with live venues, pharmacists and club operators to keep improving DistroShift around the real needs of modern workplaces. We are not building around theory. We are building around what owners, managers and teams actually need to get through the day well.

For me, that is what DistroShift is about: helping businesses spend less time buried in admin and more time backing their teams, serving customers and building something better.

Questions owners ask before they trust a new system.

Is DistroShift only for venues that distribute tips?

No. Tipping venues can use fair tip distribution, staff statements and tip records. Non-tipping venues can switch that off and use rosters, timecards, leave, tasks, employment records and accounts handoff.

Does DistroShift include bookings?

Yes. Bookings for restaurants covers reservations, walk-ins, table plans, guest markers and large-party table combinations, with a booking button for your website and Han in the pop-up. Appointments covers pharmacies, clinics and salons. Workspace, venue hire and rentals are early modes on the same add-on.

Does DistroShift process payroll?

No. DistroShift prepares verified worked hours, leave figures and corrections for your accounts process. Payroll remains with your accountant or payroll system.

Can DistroShift guarantee WRC compliance?

No software can guarantee compliance on its own. DistroShift helps venues keep WRC-ready operational records, leave calculations, audit trails and evidence references easier to maintain and explain.

Who is DistroShift for?

Irish venues with shift-based teams: pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, pharmacies, salons, leisure venues, golf clubs and similar workplaces with staff rosters, time records and leave admin.

Does DistroShift provide services to UK venues?

Yes, for rosters, timecards, bookings and accounts handoff. Leave balances, fair tip distribution and the compliance records are built around Irish law and the Irish public-holiday calendar, so a UK venue should not rely on those yet.

What does it replace?

For many small venues, it replaces a messy combination of spreadsheets, WhatsApp messages, paper notes, manual leave trackers and ad-hoc accounts handoff emails.

Is What's On free?

What's On is an add-on at €10 a month. A free version, paid for by local business ads, is coming.
